Here’s a convenient scam if you can’t sneak into your mom’s purse and ‘borrow’ her credit card:
The trick is to make an ATM deposit but the deposit envelope is empty. Then withdraw the same amount in cash. Long before the bank discovers that the envelope is empty, the depositer has run off with the cash. Smaller amounts are better because banks think it was simply a mistake, an oversight of a distracted customer. Et voila – the smaller amount is just enough for another fix.
